A double-sided transfer adhesive tape mainly consists of an adhesive mass deposited on a protective liner. After application and removal of the liner, only the layer of glue remains between the two materials. This structure allows for a very fine, discreet, and even adhesion, without a thick central support.

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease or residues. The tape is first applied to the first material with consistent pressure, then the liner is removed before contact with the second surface. Some formats can also be applied with a manual ATG-type applicator to achieve a quick and controlled application.

It is also necessary to consider temperature, humidity, mechanical stresses and the potential need for reinforcement.
