Double-sided adhesive PE foam tapes

A double-sided PE foam adhesive tape has a polyethylene foam backing coated with adhesive on both sides. Its thickness improves contact between materials and compensates for slight irregularities. It is particularly used for mounting, fixing, signage, POS displays, layout, and the installation of decorative elements.

PE foam consists of a polyethylene backing coated with an adhesive mass. It offers a good compromise between flexibility, thickness, ease of application, and cost. Acrylic foam has a viscoelastic structure that is better suited for assemblies subjected to mechanical stress, aging, or demanding environmental conditions.

A thin foam is suitable for regular surfaces, discreet assemblies, and applications requiring little thickness. A thicker foam allows for greater compensation of flatness defects and level differences between materials. However, the thickness must remain appropriate for the weight of the elements and the forces exerted on the assembly.

An acrylic adhesive generally offers good durability over time and better resistance to moisture, UVs, and temperature variations. A rubber adhesive often has a high initial tack, allowing for quick bonding on many surfaces. The choice depends on the materials, the environment, and the desired duration of adhesion.

Depending on its formulation, double-sided PE foam can be used on metal, glass, wood, painted surfaces, panels, and various plastics. Some adhesives are also suitable for difficult-to-bond plastics. The surface must be clean, dry, and sufficiently even to allow for uniform contact with the tape.

It depends on the reference. Some PE foams with acrylic adhesive are resistant to moisture, UVs, and temperature variations and may be suitable for outdoor applications. Other solutions are primarily intended for indoor mounting. Therefore, the exposure conditions and technical characteristics of the tape should be checked before installation.

Surfaces must be cleaned and free of dust, grease, and residues. The tape should be applied without stretching, then pressed firmly over the entire bonding area. It is advisable to wait for the adhesive to reach its full strength before subjecting the assembly to significant stress.

The choice depends on the materials to be assembled, their flatness, the necessary thickness, the weight of the elements, and the conditions of use. It is also important to consider the colour, the type of adhesive, and the level of adhesion required.
