Explanation
What is custom adhesive conversion?
Conversion involves cutting a tape, foam or adhesive film to a defined shape and dimensions. The resulting product can then be used directly for assembly, fastening, protection or other industrial operations.
Unlike log slitting, which adjusts a roll's width, conversion produces cut adhesive shapes, including discs.
The process is chosen according to the material, thickness, shape complexity, quantities and required precision.
Flatbed die cutting
The flatbed press uses a cutting tool applied to the material to obtain the defined shape. This process is particularly suitable for small and medium production runs and parts with a specific geometry.
Rotary die cutting
The rotary press cuts the material continuously using a cylindrical tool. It is suitable for repetitive production and large runs requiring a steady output rate.
Digital or CNC cutting
The digital cutting follows a computer-defined path directly. With no dedicated cutting tool, it offers great flexibility for prototypes, small runs and projects that may evolve.
