That is why we have identifieda range of eco-friendly, recyclable packaging adhesivesand sometimes evencompostablein industrial settings.

Several possible alternatives: 

• TheKraft adhesive (A0201A)is todaythe most obvious alternative to polypropylene and PVC packaging as it iscomposed of 100% paperboardcoated with a light adhesive mass. In addition to being effective,it is accepted in recycling streams.accepté en filière de recyclageand offers versatility in adhesion on a good number of cartons, whether they are recycled or made from virgin wood. Moreover, it is fully compatible with theautomatic packaging tape dispenser RT7700. Finally, it even offers thepossibility of being printed to display a logo in 1, 2, or 3 colours.

• Theeco-friendly tape (BIOTAPE)is an interesting alternative made from abio-sourced homopolymer known as PLA (polylactic acid). It is a filamentderived from corn starch or sugarcaneallowing it to be compostable and thereforebio-integrated in industrial composting. Its structure and adhesive give it strong adhesive power and provide an alternative to petroleum-based products. It is also widely used on packaging stations combiningdispenserRT7000and its holderDAS7which supports the pre-cut tape before it is laid flat on the carton.

• Gummed paper (A0401)or more commonly known asgummed tape, is anotherextremely effective alternative to petrochemical products. It is indeed highly favoured today by major names in logistics and mass shipping as it significantly contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of these increasingly numerous centres. Furthermore, it allows forjustifying a CSR approachsince this involves kilometres of tape used daily... The reduction of plastic derivatives is therefore significant. 

Gummed tapecan be easily storedand oftenin large rolls. The principle is simple, an adhesive activated on contact with water using amoistener of the typeDNT AT. Very easy to use, quick to apply for immediate and effective bonding, gummed tape is part of the future products in packaging. It can be plain, printed in multiple colours, and even reinforced with a fibreglass mesh for the heaviest cartons.
