We are at a turning point in terms of energy sobriety and the implementation of more responsible alternatives and less polluting options across multiple and varied fields.

In order to contribute to this common effort, DERFI strives to offer ecological alternatives to products from the oil industry and its extremely polluting derivatives. That is why we have identified a range of eco-friendly, recyclable packaging adhesives and sometimes even compostable ones in industrial settings.

Several possible alternatives: 

• The Kraft adhesive (A0201A) is today the most obvious alternative to polypropylene and PVC packaging, as it is composed of 100% paperboard coated with a light adhesive mass. In addition to being effective, it is accepted in recycling streams. accepted in the recycling sector and offers versatility in adhesion on a good number of cartons, whether they are recycled or made from virgin wood. Moreover, it is fully compatible with the automatic packaging tape dispenser RT7700. Finally, it even offers the possibility of being printed to display a logo in 1, 2, or 3 colors.

• The eco-friendly tape (TIOPR) is an interesting alternative made from a bio-sourced homopolymer known as PLA (polylactic acid). It is a filament derived from corn starch or sugarcane, allowing it to be compostable and therefore bio-integrated in industrial composting. Its structure and adhesive give it strong adhesive power and provide an alternative to petroleum-based products. It is also widely used on packaging stations, combining the dispenser RT7000 and its holder DAS7, which supports the pre-cut tape before it is laid flat on the carton.

• Gummed paper (A0401), or more commonly known as gummed tape, is another extremely effective alternative to petrochemical products. It is indeed highly favored today by major names in logistics and mass shipping, as it significantly contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of these increasingly numerous centers. Furthermore, it allows for justifying a CSR approach since this involves kilometers of tape used daily... The reduction of plastic derivatives is therefore significant. 

Gummed tape can be easily stored, often in large rolls. The principle is simple, an adhesive activated on contact with water using a moistener of the type DGT-250D. Very easy to use and quick to apply for immediate and effective bonding, gummed tape is part of the future products in packaging. It can be plain, printed in multiple colors, and even reinforced with a fiberglass mesh for the heaviest cartons.
