Opaque label dispensers

An electronic opaque label dispenser is a device that automatically peels each label from its protective backing and presents it to the operator. After the label is removed, the machine advances the roll to prepare the next one. It thus facilitates repetitive labelling operations in industry, logistics, packaging, and order preparation.

The dispenser uses a detection system that identifies the difference between the opaque label and the space present on the liner. When the label is removed, the machine detects its absence and automatically advances the roll to the next one. The setting must be adjusted to the dimensions, spacing, and material of the labels used.

Opaque labels are generally detected by a standard photoelectric cell due to the contrast between the label and its backing. Transparent labels may require a specific sensor or probe, as their transparency makes detection more difficult. A dispenser designed solely for opaque labels is therefore not necessarily compatible with transparent models.

The choice mainly depends on the width and length of the labels, the outer diameter of the reel, and the inner diameter of the core. It is also necessary to take into account the desired speed, the number of rolls to be dispensed, the presence of a counter, and the specific constraints of the working environment.

The counter allows tracking the number of labels removed or dispensed during an operation. It facilitates the preparation of precise quantities, the control of batches, and the monitoring of production. This function can be particularly useful for packaging, batch formation, or preparing orders that require a specific number of labels.

Some dispensers are designed to accommodate two reels and present two different labels at the same station. This configuration allows for grouping several references, formats, or information necessary for an operation. However, it is important to check the maximum dimensions of each roll as well as the available space on the machine.

It is advisable to check the dimensions of the labels and the reel, the winding direction, the spacing between the labels, and the material of the liner.
