An automatic roll label dispenser is a device designed to peel and present labels so that they can be easily picked up and applied. Depending on the model, the dispensing can be manual, semi-automatic, or automatic. These devices are used in industry, logistics, packaging, and order preparation.

A dispenser generally separates the label from its liner to present it ready for application. An unwinder feeds a printer or another machine with rolls of labels. A rewinder collects printed labels or the backing from the machine output to reform a clean and regular roll.

A manual dispenser is suitable for low speeds, occasional operations, and positions requiring a simple and mobile solution. An automatic dispenser is more suitable for repetitive operations and large volumes. It automatically presents the next label after the previous one has been removed, reducing handling and speeding up the operator's work.

The choice mainly depends on the width and length of the labels, the outer diameter of the reel, and the inner diameter of the core. It is also necessary to take into account the working speed, the number of rolls used, the transparency of the labels, and any necessary functions, such as counting or liner recovery.

Not systematically. Opaque labels can generally be detected using a standard photoelectric cell. Transparent labels often require a detection system or a specific sensor capable of identifying their separation on the liner. It is therefore important to check the compatibility of the dispenser with the material and transparency of the labels used.

A counter allows tracking the number of labels dispensed during a production run. A liner collector automatically rewinds the backing after the labels are peeled off. Some models can also accommodate multiple reels, operate on battery, or offer versions suitable for food environments or sensitive to electrostatic discharges.

To select suitable equipment, it is advisable to specify the dimensions and material of the labels, the characteristics of the reel, the desired speed, and the constraints of the workstation.
