Removable double-sided adhesive tapes

A double-sided adhesive tape for removable assembly allows two surfaces to be held together while retaining the ability to remove, replace, or adjust the attached element. It provides a discreet solution for temporary mounts, POS displays, signage, displays, and event installations.

A permanent double-sided adhesive tape is designed to create a durable and difficult-to-remove bond. A removable double-sided tape makes it easier to remove the element after temporary use. However, the quality of the removal depends on the substrate, the duration of application, the pressure applied, and the temperature conditions.

Repositionable tape allows for correcting or adjusting the position of the element during application or during its use, depending on the product. Removable tape is primarily designed to facilitate disassembly after a specified period. Some adhesives can combine these two properties by having different adhesion levels on each side.

The choice depends on the materials to be assembled, the weight of the element, the duration of installation, and the number of necessary repositionings. It is also important to consider transparency, the thickness of the tape, the sensitivity of the surfaces, and the conditions of use. A foam can compensate for slight irregularities, while a thin tape is better suited for flat surfaces.

Some removable adhesive tapes can be applied to paper, cardboard, painted surfaces, or other sensitive substrates. However, compatibility is never automatic. A prior test is recommended to ensure that the adhesion holds properly and that removal does not cause tearing, marks, or damage to the coating.

Not necessarily. Adhesion can increase due to time, pressure, heat, or aging. Therefore, a tape designed for temporary adhesion does not necessarily remain removable indefinitely. It is important to follow the recommended installation conditions and usage duration for each reference.

The element should be removed gradually, without sudden movements, limiting perpendicular forces on the surface. Depending on the substrate, it may be preferable to slowly peel the tape at a reduced angle.
